The Design Musuem della Triennale of Milan presents W.Women in the Italian Design
On the occasion of the XXI International Exhibition, the Design Museum della triennale Triennale of Milan presents the Ninth Edition of the W. Women in the Italian Design edited by Silvana Annicchiarico and with the project of preparation by Margherita Palli.
The director finally takes care of her museum and decided of dealing with the issue of gender, always the hottest in all fields and particularly in design and architecture. Meanwhile, the preparation by Margherita Pallis lays very well in the contest. There are the gigantic and the novices of the history of the female design but above all it investigates the different quality of the design made by women and the great challenges that the new concept of gender poses to the design itself.
But to deal with in an objective and correct way the gender issues related to the design, it is necessary to preliminary address the great removal accomplished during the Twentieth century related to the female gender. All of the modernity of the twentieth-century has put on the edge the planning of the women’s design, practically ignored by historians and theorists of design, while the XXI century is more and more characterized by a renewed force of such a planning.The chronological order tells this story in a way that is dynamic, fluid and liquid, using the metaphor of a river that runs through the Twentieth century.
Design Museum della Triennale wants to celebrate the feminine as a new creative subject in design less assertive, less authoritarian, more spontaneous, more dynamic.

Il Design Museum della Triennale di Milano presenta W.Women in Italian Design
In occasione della XXI Esposizione Internazionale, il Design Museum della Triennale di Milano presenta la Nona Edizione del W. Women in Italian Design a cura di Silvana Annicchiarico e con progetto di allestimento di Margherita Palli.
La direttrice cura finalmente il suo museo e ha pensato di trattare la questione del genere, sempre più scottante in tutti i campi e particolarmente sentita in quello del design e dell’architettura. Intanto l’allestimento lo fa Margherita Palli, e questo depone bene. Poi ci sono le gigantesse e le novizie della storia del design al femminile, ma soprattutto sono indagate la diversa qualità della progettazione delle donne e le grandi sfide che il nuovo concetto di genere pone al design.
Ma per affrontare in modo oggettivo ed equilibrato le questioni di gender legate al design è necessario affrontare preliminarmente la grande rimozione operata dal Novecento nei confronti del genere femminile. Tutta la modernità novecentesca ha messo ai margini la progettualità femminile, pressoché ignorata da storici e teorici del design. Il XXI secolo è caratterizzato sempre di più da una forza rinnovata di tale progettualità.
L’ordinamento cronologico racconta questa storia in modo dinamico, fluido e liquido, usando la metafora di un fiume che attraversa tutto il Novecento. Triennale Design Museum vuole quindi celebrare il femminile in quanto nuovo soggetto creativo di un design meno assertivo, meno autoritario, più spontaneo, più dinamico.
