The Italian product is appreciated, in addition to the aesthetic beauty, also for its attention to details. The current weaknesses are in the lack of ability to exploit digital technologies to communicate and to sell. Today, the operators of this sector needs to focus both on the production and the sharing of the results of their work with others. From this point of view, the diffusion of digital technologies and web 2.0 have contributed in a decisive way to promote this new culture of making. Social network, blog, online community, these are the places where people can discuss and debate, giving a sense to their own “productions”. In the network there are no more generic “consumers”, but the makers who want to know the details of the realization of the product, who are intrigued by the production choices and, above all, want to interact with the craftsman to reconstruct the logic of personalization that is at the basis of their very existence. If you start to see the craftsmanship of a resource, you get an accelerator for innovation with a scale that you cannot even imagine, but you need to match the skills of the know-how to the knowledge of an industrial engineer and an expert in communications to be proactive towards the makers and with equal intensity to the target of influencers, interior contractors, customers, mixing together services and industry.
