The new Hotel VIU Milan is located in the area of Porta Volta in Milan, between the railway hub of Porta Garibaldi and the new metro stop Monumentale, integrated in the new public square with the particular characterization of a vertical green landscape.
The main materials used for the exterior are glass, metal and wood, all completely converted to the modern design criteria of eco-sustainability. Further compositional elements integrated to the architecture is the vertical green that surrounds and characterizes the building.
The Hotel VIU has 124 guest rooms, including eight suites and the “the VIU suite” on the seventh floor and some of the rooms on the first floor are provided with green terraces. Among the public rooms on the ground floor, in addition to the large reception hall and the living spaces, the gourmet restaurant run by michelin-starred chef Giancarlo Morelli, and the “Bulk” bar, a tribute to the cultural centre once upon a time existing in the district. The terrace with the swimming pool and the roof bar offer a 360° panoramic view over the city. The atmosphere is comfortable, contemporary luxury in an international environment, lively and informal.
The facility is also the cornerstone of excellence within the routes that connect some new areas of the cultural center of the city, such as the Feltrinelli Foundation, the center of the ADI for the museum polo of the Casa del Design up to the nearby Fabbrica del Vapore.

I principali materiali utilizzati per gli esterni sono vetro, metallo e legno, tutti completamente convertiti ai moderni criteri costruttivi di eco-sostenibilità. Ulteriore elemento compositivo integrato all’architettura è il verde verticale che avvolge e caratterizza l’edificio.
L’hotel VIU è dotato di 124 camere per gli ospiti di cui otto suite più la “the VIU suite” al settimo piano, mentre alcune camere del primo piano sono provviste di terrazzi verdi. Tra gli ambienti pubblici del piano terra, oltre alle ampie hall con la reception e gli spazi di soggiorno, il ristorante gourmet gestito dallo chef stellato Giancarlo Morelli e gli spazi del “Bulk” bar, omaggio al centro culturale un tempo esistente nel quartiere. La terrazza con piscina e il roof-bar offrono una vista panoramica a 360° sulla città. L’atmosfera è di confortevole lusso contemporaneo in un ambiente internazionale, vivace e informale.
La struttura ricettiva inoltre è cardine d’eccellenza all’interno dei percorsi che collegano i nuovi ambiti culturali del centro città, quali la Fondazione Feltrinelli, il centro ADI con il polo museale della Casa del Design fino alla vicina Fabbrica del Vapore.
