Opened in the spring of last year, the new restaurant Casual, run by Michelin-starred chef Enrico Bartolini, is located at the foot of the beautiful panoramic slopes of San Vigilio, in the Upper Town of Bergamo. Surrounded by the historic walls which still today retain their original appearance, the charming village is the guardian of a striking architectural beauty.
The restaurant spans in two different rooms, one more private and intimate, the other developed as an internal courtyard that is open during the summer; along the wall runs a large window that offers a pleasant view of the passage of the funicular which takes visitors and residents to the highest part of the city.
The lighting of the restaurant projected by Catellani & Smith is based on a balance between lights and shadows in an environment that favors the use of natural materials. This game of visual elements generates a cosy atmosphere in which guests share, in addition to the pleasure of being together, the extraordinary creations by chef Bartolini, that combines tradition and innovation in his work.

Inaugurato nella primavera dello scorso anno, il nuovo ristorante Casual, gestito dallo chef stellato Enrico Bartolini, si trova ai piedi della suggestiva salita panoramica di San Vigilio, nella Città Alta di Bergamo. Circondato dalle mura storiche che ancora oggi conservano il loro aspetto originario, l’incantevole borgo è custode di sorprendenti bellezze architettoniche.
Il ristorante si estende su due differenti sale, una più riservata e intima, l’altra sviluppata come una corte interna accessibile durante la bella stagione; lungo tutta la parete scorre una grande vetrata che offre una piacevole veduta del passaggio della funicolare che conduce visitatori e abitanti nella parte più alta della città.
L’illuminazione dello spazio è stata curata da Catellani & Smith che ha creato un equilibrio tra luci e penombre in un ambiente che privilegia l’impiego di materiali naturali. Questo gioco di elementi visivi genera un’atmosfera accogliente in cui gli ospiti condividono, oltre al piacere di stare insieme, le creazioni straordinarie dello chef Bartolini, che coniuga tradizione e innovazione nel suo lavoro.
